Pellet and Wood Stoves and Fireplace Inserts Tax Credit Expiring Soon - Seekonk

Joseph Coupal - Thursday, December 05, 2013

Homeowners may qualify for a federal tax credit for making improvements or installing pellet or wood burning stoves or fireplace inserts in order to boost the energy-efficiency of a home.

If you haven't already claimed a tax credit of $500 or more for eligible home improvements, then you may be able to take advantage of the tax credit before the end of the year. Keep in mind, the improvements must be done to your primary home and the size of the credit depends on the type of improvement.

The tax break applies to 10% of the materials and labor costs, up to a maximum of $300 each, of certain energy efficient home improvements such as biomass stoves (wood stoves or pellet stoves) and fireplace inserts that meet specific energy-efficient guidelines. The items must meet specific energy-efficient requirements to qualify.

If you are interested in a more energy efficient home and reducing home heating bills, then a new wood or pellet burning stove or wood burning fireplace insert, or a pellet stove insert could be the answer.

Time is running out, if you would like to take advantage of the tax credit for energy-efficient upgrades, you have until the end of the month.  The tax credit expires on December 31, 2013. Taxpayers who purchase biomass stoves that use wood or wood pellets can receive a credit up to  $300.

Wood Burning Fireplace Inserts and Stoves Keep You Warm With No Power - Seekonk, MA

Joseph Coupal - Thursday, November 21, 2013

The weather is getting colder. Winter storms are on the way. Did you have heat last year when the power went out? If not, consider heating with wood. Wood heat is a great way to heat your home, supplement your home heating, or add efficiency to your open fireplace. But one of the best benefits, wood burning stoves and fireplace inserts provide heat even when you have no power. A big plus for those with kids, older adults at home, or for those who just want to be warm!

Today, wood burning stoves and fireplace inserts have better technology than they had in the past. This makes them more efficient, they burn longer and cleaner.  If you want the cleanest, most efficient wood burning stoves and inserts to keep you warm all winter long even in a power outage, today’s technology can do that.

Wood Burning fireplace inserts and stoves use fireboxes that allow fires to burn hotter and longer. This means they are more efficient than older models and certainly more efficient than an open hearth. In fact, an open heart will draw the warm air from your home out your chimney. When the power goes out  you can use a wood stove or insert to heat your home while you burn a long day fire or burn a fire overnight.

Every home is vulnerable to power outages during winter storms. But with a wood fireplace insert or wood burning stove you can rely on comfort and heat when you need it most, even when you have no power. Rest assured that you can enjoy a cozy, warm home when the power is out!

The Many Advantages of Wood Burning and Pellet Stove Inserts – Seekonk, MA

Joseph Coupal - Friday, October 04, 2013

Don’t let the warm weather forecasted for this weekend fool you. The temperatures will be dropping very soon, especially at night. Wood burning and pellet stove inserts are a better, easier, more efficient way to heat your home. Not to mention, you will get a $300 tax rebate at the end of the year for buying one.

Wood fireplace inserts and pellet stove inserts are more efficient than open fireplaces and more efficient than older model inserts and stoves. There is nothing quite as relaxing as coming home from a long day at work and sitting in front of the fire to wind down. But there are more benefits to fireplace inserts than just the ambiance.

Wood is an excellent, efficient, and attractive way to heat your home. Wood burning inserts are a cost effective heat source that keeps you warm even when the power goes out.  But not only will you save money with wood heat, you add a relaxing and comfortable ambiance to your home.

A wood burning insert is more energy efficient than other heating systems and certainly more efficient than an open fireplace. Fireplace inserts burn cleaner and get more heat or BTU’s out of the wood than the cost equivalent fossil fuel.

Wood burning fireplace inserts and pellet stove insert give you a fairly low-cost, comforting dry heat that you can budget for before winter evens starts. If you heat with oil, you are accustomed to fluctuating oil costs all winter long, making budgeting for heat impossible. With pellet and wood heat, you know what you need to buy before the winter starts, and that price doesn’t change. You know what you will spend to heat your home all winter.

A wood stove burns efficiently and beautifully and will add atmosphere to any room.  Enhance the beauty of that old hearth, add efficiency to your home heating, and fuel with a renewable resource. Another Reason to Buy a Stove or Insert - $300 Biomass Stove Tax Credit - Seekonk

Joseph Coupal - Thursday, September 05, 2013

There is more than one reason why now is the perfect time to consider your home heating for this winter. If you have been paying too much to heat your home during the winter months, wood and pellets burning stoves and inserts make your home heating much more efficient. Biomass stoves and inserts are those that burn either wood or pellets and this is a cheaper, warmer way to heat.

Rather than replace an entire heating system, which can be costly, you can heat the rooms in your home that tend to stay “drafty” and cold all winter long by adding a wood burning stove or fireplace insert.

Wood burning stoves, pellet stoves or fireplace inserts are an easy, beautiful, inexpensive way to heat those cold rooms in your home. Pellet stoves are even easier because they can be installed on any exterior wall and vented to the outside. Biomass stoves and inserts perform dependably year after year, giving you the energy efficiency you need to heat your home.

Wood and pellets stoves and stove inserts burn cleaner than fossil fuels and of course, are not subject to fluctuating fuel prices all season long. Models range from traditional styling to more elegant styles to modern lines and lots of glass for easy viewing. Wood and pellet stoves and inserts are a beautiful investment for your home.

Additionally the federal tax credit on all biomass stoves or inserts that are 75% or more efficient has been reinstated. This is a tax credit for qualifying biomass burning stoves and inserts. This is a 10% tax credit of up to $300 on a qualifying biomass stove or insert purchased before December 31, 2013.
