Heating with wood has come a long way since the time of the old wood stove.

Reduced heating costs are a big factor in the decision for many homeowners. Using wood stoves and inserts saves money, but there are other factors too. Homeowners can save money, increase home value, add ambiance, do something good for the environment and support local businesses and jobs.

Winter is at our doorstep. There is comfort by heating with wood. Knowing that whatever the weather decides to throw at us, there will still be heat, and there are few worries about running out of fuel or running out of heat when the power goes out.

Joseph Coupal - Wednesday, February 22, 2012

Interest in wood burning stoves has jumped recently because they have a reputation for being environmentally friendly as well as allowing home owners to “get off the grid”. Despite the mild weather, there is still no better time to buy a wood burning stove or insert.

On the Cape, chilly nights last well through the spring and often into the summer. Wood burning stoves and fireplace inserts can heat your home and bring relaxing warmth to your evenings. Not only will you save money with wood heat, you add a relaxing and comfortable ambience to your home.

Spring is nearly here which means we need to clear out the showroom. And while the weather has been mild, many homeowners are still interested in buying a wood stove or wood burning fireplace insert. But all types of products are on sale. Wood, gas and pellet stoves, inserts and fireplaces have been red tagged so we can sell them and restock.

Come on into Fireplace Showplace, see what wood stoves and inserts we have red tagged, and enjoy your evenings by heating with wood.

Homeowners with a Stove Or Insert Used Very Little Heat This Winter

Joseph Coupal - Thursday, February 16, 2012

With the mild winter we have had in Massachusetts, many feel like Spring is right around the corner. But, even so, there are still plenty of reasons to buy a stove or fireplace insert.  Temperatures were lower this winter, but you still need to heat your home. Have you noticed, you probably have not used much less heat despite the fact that we have had very little snow.

However, those who purchased pellet and wood burning fireplaces, stoves or inserts in the last few years didn’t use their heat at all, or used it very little. It may be warmer outside, but your house still needs heat. The newer stoves and inserts are so energy efficient, that many of our clients didn’t even turn on their heat this winter; the fire was enough. They saved thousands of dollars on their heating bills.

It may have been a mild winter, but in Massachusetts we know we are not going to get two of these winters in a row. Contact Fireplace Showcase for information on the right stove or insert for your home.
