What is a Wood Burning Fireplace Insert?

28 December 2012

A fireplace insert is a firebox designed to fit into an existing masonry fireplace. They are designed to generate and circulate heat around the house. An efficient fireplace insert provides warmth to a large area of your house.

How does it work?

Once the fireplace inserts are installed in an existing fireplace, the fire in the box warms up the metal walls around it and generates heat into the room. The glass doors covering the  fireplace not only keeps the heat in but also ensures the efficient burning of  the wood. This lets you get the most of the heat for the least cost possible. Also, many wood burning fireplace inserts come with a blower and vents ensuring that the heat is efficiently distributed around the room.
