The Splitting Axe is very suitable for cleaving wood. The wedge-shaped head, will push the wood apart. This axe is less heavy than the Splitting Maul and is therefore a bit easier to handle. The back of the axe head forms a hammer that can be used with the Splitting Wedge.
The stem is made of American hickory. This type of wood is highly resistant to the great force that is exercised during chopping.
Comes with a leather protective case for the axe head.
